I can scarcely believe it – just as we were gearing up to start to promote our wonderful mayoral candidate Paul Linehan, Labour have cancelled the election claiming that the local authorities needed more time to organise themselves.
A few words from Paul
I am standing to be the first Mayor of Sussex because devolution gives us a genuine chance to shape our own future. My priorities are clear. I want people to feel safe, I want local enterprise to grow without unnecessary barriers and I want homes built for the people who live and work here.
Sussex has the talent and the potential to thrive. What it needs now is leadership that listens, acts and delivers. I am standing to provide that leadership and to make sure Sussex becomes a county that is safe, confident and fair for everyone who calls it home.
